The Yato handheld laser distance meter measures distances from 0.05 m to 50 m and calculates areas, volumes and heights using Pythagorean trigonometry. Its red laser beam is Class 2, with an output of less than 1 mW and a wavelength of 650 nm. It features a backlit LCD with a battery indicator and is powered by two 1.5 V AAA batteries.

The device stores up to 99 measurements, lets you select the measurement reference point at either the end or the centre of the device, and supports m, ft, in and ft+in units. The laser switches off automatically after 30 s, and the device after 180 s. A carrying case is included.
