The Spill Stop is made from 100% food-safe silicone:

Its secret lies in the special removable flower-shaped component, which regulates boiling and prevents overflow. Once the steam surrounds the lid, the flower "opens." The temperature drops, the steam condenses, and returns to the vessel without "losing" the amount of liquid required for cooking.

By removing the flower, you can add wine or other liquids through the opening without burning yourself and dirtying the surrounding area. By turning the lid upside down, you can cover the dish you want to heat in the microwave.

If you place it on a pot with your choice of vegetables topped with a glass lid, you will have a wonderful steamed dish. It withstands temperatures of up to 230 degrees Celsius and is dishwasher safe. This particular lid is for cookware with a diameter of up to 20 cm.
