Black pepper is a flowering climbing plant with small, fiery fruits and a fleshy pericarp measuring 5 – 8mm in diameter. It originates from India, and its existence dates back to 4000 B.C. Black pepper comes from the berries of the pepper plant that are close to ripening. They are then dried and ground into different granulations.
