Description

Carrot sticks with organic spelt flour 250gr. Contains 100% organic spelt flour, also known as hulled wheat or dinkel wheat. Spelt is a type of wheat that has been cultivated since around 5000 BC and was a significant staple food in various parts of Europe from the Bronze Age to the medieval period.

Today, spelt survives as a relic crop in Central Europe and northern Spain and has found a new market as a healthy food. It is sometimes considered a subspecies of common wheat (Triticum aestivum), and its botanical name may be considered triticum aestivum subsp. spelta. Like soft wheat, it is a hexaploid wheat, meaning it has six sets of chromosomes.
