We live in the age of globalization. However, Orthodoxy is also Universal. What is the difference between globalization and the universality of Orthodoxy? Globalization seeks to eliminate every uniqueness of peoples. It aims to homogenize everyone so that capital can move easily and the strong can profit at the expense of the weak.
In contrast, the universality of Orthodoxy emphasizes the good particularities of peoples, highlights them, and integrates them into its universality. In other words, in one image: Globalization is a bulldozer that crushes everyone. The universality of Orthodoxy is a bouquet that gathers all the good particularities of peoples and creates harmony in diversity.
A particular trait of the Greek Genus and Nation is the cooperation of the Church with the Genus. Since pre-Christian times, there have been no Greek lands without "Sacred" (Plutarch). This relationship, this cooperation, was "institutionalized" in Byzantium and continues to this day. Thus, the Genus of Greeks "achieved greatness through the alliance with Christianity" (K. Paparrigopoulos) and the Church radiated.
This cooperation is what globalization wants to abolish. It is a thorn in the side of its proponents. However, we will not allow some so-called "progressive" defenders of globalization to abolish this cooperation. We will resist! Not, of course, with acts of violence that are common from various people on various issues. But with our lives. A conscious and balanced Orthodox and Greek life.
