Tea tree essential oil has a camphoraceous aroma and can be used for inhalations, applied topically to pimples or hangnails with a damp cotton pad, and added to shampoo for a dry scalp and dandruff. Diluted in water, it can be used as a surface-cleaning spray.

For inhalations, add a few drops to boiling water or one to two drops to a warm towel. To use in shampoo, add 3–4 drops to the bottle. For a surface spray, dilute 15 drops in 1 L of water. It blends well with cinnamon, geranium, lavender, lemon, rosemary, and thyme.
