I will give them a 4 and will return after use. At first glance, it is what one expects from AKU, a company that needs no introduction for hunting boots, but here we are talking about a hiking boot which, at first feel, is as described: tight on the instep, so tight that you definitely need a whole size larger than what you usually wear!
The sole is quite stiff, you immediately feel it as an extension of your foot. It does not have perimeter protection, which I consider a lack for such a boot. The sole simply hugs the foot, the tongue part is very padded and comfortable, it does not tighten with the laces.
I will return after hiking for comfort feedback.
Updated review: inside, there is a seam of the membrane exactly where the eyelets for the laces end, resulting in you feeling them as if they are screwed into your foot, very annoying and even painful.
Big fail in terms of comfort.
