MiyaCath plus Self-Lubricating Catheter
The MiyaCath plus self-lubricating catheter is designed for easy self-catheterization of the bladder. Its hydrophilic coating minimizes friction, facilitating smooth insertion into the urethra. It comes with a sachet of sterile water for additional lubrication and features rounded openings to prevent irritation. It is made from 100% silicone, soft and gentle on delicate urethral tissue.
The catheter has:
- An extremely soft outer layer to maximize comfort.
- A stable middle layer for easier handling.
- A flexible inner layer for easier navigation.
The hydrophilic coating of the catheter's outer surface allows for the insertion and extraction of the catheter with minimal friction. The insertion cover allows for secure handling of the catheter without contact with the surface, minimizing the risk of infection.
Intermittent Catheterization
Intermittent catheterization (Clean Intermittent Catheterization - CIC) is used by male and female patients of any age with bladder storage and emptying problems. A thin flexible catheter is guided through the urethra into the bladder, draining the bladder and carefully removing the catheter. The goal is to ensure urinary continence and maintain the patient's kidneys in the best possible condition.
Indications for Intermittent Catheterization:
- Neurogenic bladder
- Multiple sclerosis
- Spinal cord injuries (paraplegia, etc.)
- Myelodysplastic syndromes
- Peripheral neuropathy from various causes (e.g., diabetes)
- Atonic bladder
- Patients with urinary drainage problems (e.g., prostate enlargement)
