Description & Specifications

This book is characterized by a rich development of the theory of Aerodynamics, with numerous solved and unsolved exercises, so that the complex concepts of this particularly difficult field of Aerodynamics are presented in an understandable and illustrative manner. Aerodynamic forces, aerodynamic coefficients, thin airfoils, flows around wings, subsonic flows, transonic and supersonic flows around bodies, real flows, and the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics in Aerodynamics are described and analyzed in depth, while the introductory chapters include an excellent presentation and development of the fundamental concepts of Fluid Mechanics.

The book is oriented towards covering the educational needs of Aerodynamics courses in Engineering Schools. The various topics are developed progressively, so that the reader of the book thoroughly understands each concept before moving on to the next. The Examples help reinforce the various concepts, presented in a methodical and standardized way, so that their solution ensures a complete understanding of the material. At the end of each chapter, a number of Problems allow the reader to test their abilities and grasp on their own the depth of the concepts and applications of Aerodynamics.
