It is sturdy and I believe it will last over time. I don't know if it will get scratches because I haven't used it much. The big downside is that it has a smaller opening than cups of the same size and I can't use the lids I have. The 40oz cups have a 9cm opening while this one is 8.5cm. Its own lid leaks a bit when the straw is in, but you can position the silicone stopper it has in such a way that there are no leaks. I give one star less for the smaller opening.
