Basic Features
Semi-Hollow Construction, Wood Selection & Internal Architecture
The body of the instrument uses Gibson’s classic semi-hollow construction, with a three-ply maple and poplar top, sides, and back (3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple). This layered structure provides excellent rigidity and resistance to environmental changes, helping prevent unwanted resonance. Inside the body is a solid, one-piece maple center block (Solid Maple Centerblock) that runs the length of the instrument, helping resist acoustic feedback at high amplification levels and extending natural sustain. The soundboard is also supported by Quarter-Sawn Adirondack Spruce bracing, glued with hot hide glue for an immediate acoustic response.
Rounded C Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard & Plek Processing
The neck is made of solid mahogany and shaped to the classic Rounded C profile, offering balanced grip geometry suited to both open-chord playing and fast melodic runs. The fingerboard is made of select Indian rosewood (Rosewood) with a 12" (304.8 mm) radius and is framed by cream binding. It features 22 Medium Jumbo frets, precision-machined and leveled using the Plek Pro system, ensuring low action without fret buzz and consistent tonal accuracy across the entire range. The Graph Tech NuBone nut, measuring 43.05 mm wide, allows the strings to glide smoothly.
Calibrated T-Type Electronics Systems & ABR-1 Hardware
The electrical circuit features two Calibrated T-Type Humbucker pickups (Rhythm in the neck position and Lead at the bridge), based on the design of Gibson’s historic T-Top pickups, delivering clear highs, tight lows, and a balanced dynamic response. The wiring is entirely hand-wired with CTS 500k Audio Taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors, ensuring smooth, progressive roll-off without compromising tonal clarity. The hardware includes a traditional nickel-plated zinc ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and an Aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece for efficient transfer of string vibrations to the body.
