The Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro 1.4x DGX teleconverter increases the effective focal length of compatible Canon EF lenses by 40%, providing greater reach. It maintains communication between the lens and camera, allowing automatic metering and autofocus to continue, while transmitting Exif data and adjusting the reported focal length to the actual value when the teleconverter is attached.

The optical construction comprises five elements in four groups, with multilayer anti-reflective coatings on the individual elements to reduce reflections and ghosting. Using the teleconverter results in a one-stop loss of light.
