VioGenesis Serraprozyme is a dietary supplement containing the proteolytic enzyme alkaline protease and the fungus Aspergillus oryzae. Aspergillus oryzae, also known as koji, is a filamentous fungus used to produce fermented foods. It is also widely used to produce enzymes, including alkaline protease.

The alkaline protease in the product provides 300,000 units of enzymatic activity, comparable to that of serratiopeptidase. Proteases are hydrolytic enzymes that act as biocatalysts to break down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids, helping to release amino acids from the proteins we consume in food. Smaller peptides and amino acids are more easily absorbed by the body and have high bioavailability.*
