The air compressor head is essential for the proper operation of the machine. When installing a new head on an old air compressor of any brand, you should pay attention to the following:
- Pulley diameter: Check the diameter of the previous motor’s pulley and the flywheel. The number of revolutions of the head depends on the motor’s pulley and the head’s flywheel.
- RPM tolerance: Allow a tolerance of at least 15% below the MAXIMUM RPM to protect the head and the motor.
- Oil in the crankcase: Be sure to put oil in the crankcase before starting (SAE 15W50).
- Direction of rotation: Check the direction of rotation of the flywheel to ensure it cools the head.
- Belt and fitting tightening: Properly tighten the drive belt and the fittings of the pipe that carries air to the air tank. Check the fittings for possible leaks during operation.
- Pressure switch and check valve: Check the pressure switch (automatic) and the check valve internally. Make sure there is a safety valve.
- Recommended Engine Power
- 3 hp
