Description & Specifications

SKC hand taps are used to cut internal threads in metal surfaces. The set includes three taps with different chamfer configurations: No. 1 has 8–10 chamfer threads for easy starting in unprepared materials, No. 2 has 3–5 chamfer threads for general use and for threads that do not reach the bottom of the hole, while No. 3 is used to cut threads to the bottom of the hole.

Before use, a hole must be drilled with a rotary drill. Its diameter should be larger than the tap’s core diameter and smaller than the outer diameter of the desired thread. Turn the taps using a tap wrench or tap ratchet. Cutting oil helps ensure a smoother process.
