This plant has low requirements and is a good alternative to Cabomba, which requires a lot of light. It does not grow well if the lighting is not satisfactory, but the condition can be improved with the addition of CO2. It looks more beautiful when planted in groups. Under favorable growth conditions, it sends runners throughout the substrate. It is also commonly referred to as Ambulia.
