This game includes 15 new cards: 1 Rule Card, 13 Gambits, and 1 Base.

The Gambits in this set work differently from the original Gambits, as they enter play face down. Certain actions/bonuses are triggered when the Gambit is revealed, while most have an additional effect when discarded.

The Gambits are dealt face down to the players at the start of the game. The number of Gambit cards each player receives can be chosen, or fewer cards can be given to some players as an advantage. The extra (unclaimed) Gambit cards are set aside in a face down stack. The Secret Outpost is kept separate and is not shuffled with the Gambit Cards or the Trade Deck.

Players keep their Gambit cards face down in front of them until they choose to reveal them. Gambit cards are never placed in the trade deck, your hand, or your personal deck. They have silver borders to make them easier to manage separately from other cards. Players may reveal Gambits at the start or during their Main Phase.
