The Intellinet 6243 cable tester checks RJ45, RJ11 and BNC cabling, as well as 10Base-2, 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and Token Ring networks. Its remote unit lets you test cables even after installation, detecting continuity faults, open circuits and reversed connections. The PoE test unit identifies Power over Ethernet cables.

Connections are checked using LED indicators for eight lines. The tester is suitable for Category 5/6 cables, ISDN Cat 3 and coaxial connections.
