The Artpol HSS drill bit with a cylindrical shank is designed for drilling metal. It is made of 4241 high-speed steel, with a hardness of 62° HRc (±2°), a 118° point angle and a right-hand Type N flute. Its oxidised surface coating reduces friction and the risk of chips sticking to the bit.

It is suitable for machining alloy and carbon steels with a hardness of up to 250 BHN, grey cast iron, non-ferrous metals and hardened plastics. The cutting edges are ground, and the drill bit can be sharpened by hand. The use of coolant is recommended.
