The Neocaridina Heteropoda shrimp is one of the most resilient shrimp and reproduces rapidly, making it preferable for beginner hobbyists. It originates from Asia and is considered small-sized, as males reach up to 2.5 centimeters in length.

They can live in almost any freshwater aquarium, as long as the water quality is good and predators are absent. Female shrimp are larger than males, have darker colors, and a more swollen abdomen.
