The well-known Kuhli loach, also called Coolie loach, comes from the tropical waters of Indonesia and Malaysia. Its shape resembles an eel and its body coloration is yellow with brown/black stripes. This is a fish that can be kept without particular difficulty. It thrives best in groups of at least 3 individuals, on a sandy substrate, as sharp stones or gravel can injure it. It is a nocturnal species and the best time to feed it is a few minutes after the aquarium lights are turned off. The use of sinking foods is recommended, as these are bottom-dwelling fish.
