Amano shrimp are among the most effective algae-eating shrimp and are considered essential cleaners in planted aquariums. With proper care, they can live for over 8 years. Females make up the larger size group, while males tend to be somewhat smaller. Amano shrimp are quite agile, curious, and peaceful, and they quickly acclimate to their environment. They do not fight with each other or with other species of shrimp and fish.
