The history of the Ferrari D50 began in the summer of 1955, when the entire Lancia D50 fleet, along with the design drawings, tools and spare parts, was handed over to Enzo Ferrari following the tragic death of Alberto Ascari. With chief designer Vittorio Jano joining the team and legendary driver Juan Manuel Fangio signing on, Ferrari created an unbeatable team alongside Luigi Musso, Eugenio Castellotti and Peter Collins. The car achieved 5 Grand Prix victories during the 1956 season, earning Fangio his fourth Drivers’ Championship title. CMC recreates this pivotal period, which left its mark on Formula 1 history, with the utmost respect and historical accuracy.

Historical Renaissance & The Epic of Scuderia Ferrari in 1956
Revolutionary Design & Engineering Improvements Jano
CMC has meticulously reproduced all the technical modifications Ferrari made to Lancia’s original design. The external side fuel tanks were removed and replaced with a single rear tank, creating a more aerodynamic, streamlined body with integrated 4 exhaust pipes on each side that produce Ferrari’s legendary sound. In addition, the external oil coolers were replaced with a tubular radiator at the front, while the transverse-leaf-spring rear suspension was upgraded. These changes enabled the V8 engine to reach an impressive output of 265 hp, faithfully rendered in the model.
Unmatched Handmade Quality & Authentic Materials CMC
Built to the highest standards by CMC Classic Model Cars, this model is hand-assembled from premium materials such as metal, leather, and precision-engineered components. The metal body features an authentic paint finish, while the wheels are fitted with Englebert tires, just as they were when the car raced in 1956.
