Starting with the traction you need to cut, start, stop, and perform a Euro step at the highest level, Nike’s designers developed a new "ANTETOKOUNMPO" traction pattern.
It features a more rigid feel on the lateral side of the silhouette and a smoother feel on the inside, helping Giannis and hoopers like him to create crucial separation and leave defenders in the dust.
In a first for Nike Basketball, this performance innovation is combined with a full-length, wall-to-wall Cushlon 3.0 midsole.
It covers the entire length and offers, in an accessible silhouette, the comfort and responsiveness required for hoopers who dedicate many hours to improving their game.
The Cushlon 3.0 foam and the internal molded cage provide the responsiveness and secure fit you need to cut through the defense with agility, like Giannis.
Additionally, the midsole, outsole, and upper of the Giannis Freak 7 feature mechanically engineered grooves that flex and compress, helping Giannis and other powerful hoopers to move effectively around, through, and over the competition every time they step onto the court.
With a design that is as fluid and dynamic as Giannis's game, the Giannis Freak 7 is made for freedom of movement on the court.

To support quick cuts and effective Euro steps, Nike designers created an upper inspired by both Giannis's heritage and Nike's own legacy.
The Giannis Freak 7 are reminiscent of Greek sandals that lock the heel, while also helping to secure the foot both at the midfoot and on the lateral side.
Giannis's surname is written on the traction pattern and the upper part subtly incorporates his signature logo. The "Ignition" color combination evokes the intensity Giannis brings when he steps onto the court, and every detail is designed to support his renowned work ethic, inspiring young basketball players to strive to improve their game.
