The Filtrato 63-0178 replacement filter cartridge contains Mixed Bed deionization resin, with 50% anion and 50% cation resin. It reduces total dissolved solids (TDS) in water to zero and its conductivity to 0.1 μS. The filling material is encapsulated and protected by 50-micron melt-blown sediment filters at the inlet and outlet.

It is used in applications that require water with low conductivity, such as aquariums, dental equipment, laboratories, hydroponics, hospitals, and sterilization applications. Installing a reverse osmosis unit before the filter cartridge can extend the resin’s service life.
