The Battle of Cat Island — a competitive, standalone game for two players. Players take on the roles of citizens of Squalls End on a rescue mission to Cat Island, aiming to save as many cats as possible before the wicked Lord Vesh arrives.
Each cat is represented by a unique tile and belongs to a family. Players must find a way to fit them all onto their boat while keeping the families together. The Battle of Cat Island replaces the card drafting from the original game Cat Island with a new movement system.
Guided by an Oshax cat, players take turns moving around the island. Where a player moves determines which cats, treasures, and lessons they can access, influencing the options available to their opponent on the next turn. In the end, the player who best balances rescuing cats, completing lessons, and limiting their opponent's choices will prove to be the ultimate cat rescuer.
