The Moon Colony Bloodbath board game by Rio Grande Games is a science fiction game featuring a build-and-break action engine. Players create a shared deck that triggers events, which may have negative or positive consequences for their lunar colonies.
Each round, one card is revealed from the shared deck. When a work card appears, each player simultaneously chooses one action: mine for money, farm for food, research for cards, construct a building, or restock the boxes in buildings. Problem cards add events to the deck, such as hunger, bureaucracy, breakdowns, accidents, leaks, and power outages, while plot twist cards vary from game to game. Players can also add personal perks that affect only themselves and developments that affect everyone to the shared deck.
The game ends when one colony runs out of inhabitants or when the players reach the end of the event deck. The player with the most survivors wins.
