The Korg Multi/Poly is a professional 37-key digital analog modeling synthesizer inspired by the architecture of the legendary Korg Mono/Poly. It is powered by Korg’s Analog Modeling Sound Engine technology, offering 60-voice polyphony and 4 simultaneous layers (Program Mode). It features a 37-key, full-size semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and release velocity sensitivity. Its architecture includes 4 oscillators per Program with a choice of Classic, Digital, and Waveshaper waveforms, emulations of classic analog filters (Mono/Poly, MS-20, Mini), and the Kaoss Physics system for dynamically shaping parameters in real time. It is equipped with an extensive modulation matrix (Mod Matrix), a built-in sequencer, 32-bit DSP effects, USB-MIDI ports, and analog outputs.
Basic Features
Analog Modeling Architecture & Oscillators
The Korg Multi/Poly uses an advanced analog modeling system, offering 4 independent oscillators per Program plus a noise generator. Each oscillator can be set to Classic Analog modes (sawtooth, square, triangle), Digital Waveforms, or Waveshaping. It features Virtual Voice Modeling circuitry that simulates the natural imperfections of analog components, such as oscillator tuning variations (Oscillator Drift) and envelope deviations, adding organic warmth to the sound.
Vintage Filter Modeling & Multi-Layering
The filter section includes precise digital recreations of historic analog filters. Users can choose from the original Mono/Poly filter (4-pole low-pass), the self-oscillating MS-20 filters (low-pass / high-pass), the distinctive 24 dB Mini-style filter, and PolySix polyphonic filters. The synthesizer also lets you combine up to 4 independent Programs in a Performance, offering layering and splitting capabilities with a total polyphony of up to 60 voices.
Kaoss Physics Technology, Motion Sequencing & Effects
For live parameter manipulation, the Multi/Poly incorporates Kaoss Physics technology, which simulates a virtual ball moving across a surface with friction, gravity and walls, generating complex modulation values via the X/Y Pad. Meanwhile, the Motion Sequencing 2.0 system lets you program and separate the timing, sequence and value of the steps independently. The effects section features 3 simultaneous DSP engines for Pre-FX, Mod-FX and Delay/Reverb processing.
User Interface, Build & Connectivity
The instrument's front panel features dedicated controls for every key function (knob-per-function layout), providing direct access to the oscillators, filters, envelopes, and effects. Its chassis combines an aluminum panel with wooden side panels, keeping the weight to 3.5 kg. Connectivity includes balanced 1/4" TRS outputs, traditional MIDI In/Out ports, a USB-MIDI port, and a Sustain pedal jack.
