It is the tool that keeps up with your pace, offering the peace of mind of a device that simply works perfectly.

Why this IdeaPad dominates its category:

  • 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD → Huge storage space for all your files with breathtaking transfer speeds.

  • 14" WUXGA IPS 16:10 Display → 10% more vertical workspace so you can see more data with less scrolling.

  • Aluminum Body → Premium feel, military-grade durability (MIL-STD-810H), and weighs just 1.45kg.

  • Rapid Charge Boost → Get 2 hours of use with just 15 minutes of charging – ideal for those always on the go.

The IdeaPad Slim 5 uses intelligent thermal management that keeps it quiet during everyday tasks. In addition, the built-in NPU (AI Engine) prepares your system for the artificial intelligence applications of the future, ensuring that your investment will remain relevant for the next 5+ years.

The following review comes from someone who uses engineering tools, coding tools, 3D modeling, and very light gaming, all outside the home.

The laptop is excellent for the work I need it for. I needed something with enough processing power for a wide range of programs and tools, without having to spend a lot of money.

I run dual boot with Windows 11 and Linux without any problems and I have been very satisfied with the processor, RAM, and the drive (DDR5 16GB 5600Mhz) and (Micron MTFDKCD1T0QGN-1BN1AABLA 1024GB) (Read 3500MB/s and Write 3372MB/s from a benchmark I did). Something I liked about this particular laptop is the "Golden Aspect Ratio" of the screen (16:10), as well as the ability to upgrade the RAM (SODIMM). The integrated graphics card in the processor (Radeon 780M) was also quite good, which was enough for simple rendering with Cycles in Blender and for light games. As for the network card, the Bluetooth connection, both in Windows and Linux, was trouble-free, as was the Wi-Fi, which fully saturated the 500Mbps line at home (Realtek RTL8852BE).

On the negative side, the battery doesn't last long, especially on Windows 11 (mine came with a 60MaH battery). Of course, with Linux and TLP the battery lasts much longer. As far as I noticed, with VSCode open, in 2 hours (exact measurement) it went from 100% to 78% (brightness at 35% on Linux). Also, the screen is average, but quite good for a portable device, with satisfactory brightness. The speakers are acceptable, but that's not something I care much about. I haven't used the camera and microphone.

I got it for 720 euros (without OS) and I have been very satisfied for the tasks I bought it for.
