Ioannis Metaxas was the greatest political-military figure of Modern Greece. He participated in all significant events of modern Greek history, culminating in the morning of October 28, 1940, when destiny entrusted him with the honor of Greece. With the historic NO, he entered immortality gloriously.

From a young age, he had pointed out what parliamentary democracy truly represents, and on August 4, 1936, he abolished it. As a military leader, he was internationally recognized for his strategic knowledge and justified concerning various positions he held over time, e.g., Gallipoli, Asia Minor, etc.

His ideas and works rank him among the foremost Greek leaders of all time. For this reason, the publication of his biography is useful for informing primarily the Greek youth.
