Historical Information and Plant Morphology: Mustard (Sinapis alba) is an annual plant of the Brassicaceae family, mainly cultivated for its seeds, which are used in cooking and medicine. Historically, it was used to treat colds and rheumatism, mentioned by Hippocrates as a warming and anti-inflammatory remedy.

Properties:

  • Increases blood circulation.
  • Treatment of colds and relief from neuralgia.
  • Improvement of stomach function.

Usage:

  • Poultice: Mix 50 gr. of ground seeds with water (25°C-30°C) to create a dough, wrap with gauze and apply to the pain site.
  • Baths: Use 25 gr. of ground seeds in 2 liters of water (25°C-30°C) for local or general baths.

Origin: Greece, Imathia Prefecture.

Storage: In a dark and cool place (5°C – 15°C).
