Ground Kakoules cardamom is added to tsoureki, vasilopita and cakes, as well as rice, for a distinctive flavour and aroma. It is also one of the ingredients in curry powder.

Cardamom is also used in pickles and marinades, as well as in coffee and herbal infusions. Store in a cool, dark place at 5–15 °C.
