It belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is widely cultivated in Mediterranean countries. Its leaves are small, ovate, and highly aromatic, while its flowers are white or pink.

Properties:

  • Rich in vitamin C: Contributes to the strengthening of the immune system.
  • Digestive action: Facilitates digestion and addresses intestinal atony.
  • Respiratory issues: Used for bronchitis and relief of the respiratory tract.
  • Anti-inflammatory action: Heals inflammations and ulcers in the oral cavity and tonsils.
  • Relief of arthritic problems: Useful in rheumatic deformities and gout.
  • Cardiovascular health: Helps regulate hypertension and combats arteriosclerosis.
