With distant origins in Brazil, the reddish pink berries have a delicate and slightly bitter taste. They are usually used whole, as they are extremely fragile and their outer shell breaks easily. They are less spicy than other types of pepper and emit sweet aromas.

  • Used in recipes for fish, soups, vegetables (asparagus).
  • Ideal for colorful blends with other pepper seeds.
