History and Plant Morphology: Louisa (Aloysia citrodora) is a perennial aromatic plant native to South America. It was introduced to Europe in the 17th century and named in honor of Maria Louisa, Princess of Parma. The plant is known for the strong lemon scent emitted by its leaves, which are thin, elongated, and vibrant green in color.
