Historical information and plant morphology: Flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum) is one of the oldest cultivated plants, known since antiquity for its beneficial properties. In ancient Greece, it was used for fabric production. The plant has thin leaves and small blue flowers, with seeds rich in omega-3 fatty acids and lignans.

  • Lipid-lowering action: Reduces levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides.
  • Respiratory system: Helps relieve asthma.
  • Digestive system: Effective in treating constipation.
  • Hormonal balance: Relieves menstrual pain.
  • Skin conditions: Used as a poultice for acne treatment.
  • Pain-relieving action: Helps alleviate headaches.
