Malotira (Sideritis spp.) is a wild Mediterranean plant, widely known in Crete and the mountains of Greece. Its name comes from the ancient word "sideros" (iron), as it was believed to have properties against wounds caused by iron weapons. It is traditionally used for preparing infusions and is considered a symbol of health and longevity.
