Controller IC Chip - MOSFET MXIC MX25L12873F

The MX25L12873F is a 128Mb serial flash memory chip, configured internally as 16,777,216 x 8. It is a complete laptop chip (Code: CHIP0724). When operating in two or four I/O mode, the structure becomes 67,108,864 bits x 2 or 33,554,432 bits x 4.

The MX25L12873F features a serial peripheral interface and software protocol that enables operation using a simple 3-wire bus in single I/O mode. The three signals of the bus include a clock input (SCLK), a serial data input (SI), and a serial data output (SO). Serial access to the device is activated via the CS# input.

When in dual I/O read mode, the SI and SO pins are converted to SIO0 and SIO1 for address/fake pin input and data output. In quad I/O read mode, the SI and SO pins become SIO0, SIO1, SIO2, and SIO3 for address/fake pin input and data output. The MX25L12873F MXSMIO (Serial Multi I/O) provides sequential reading across the entire chip.
