I thought, after all the hype, to give it a try myself... First of all, before I start... Forget about the fragrance pyramid... Top, middle, and base notes... All that goes out the window. The opening is almost the base notes. Paradoxical but true. Almost everything is upside down. Strong resinous-ambery, balsamic, slightly woody, a bit spicy, and for some inexplicable reason, it remains uplifting... But to get to the point and leave terminology aside, we're talking about a sweet (not overly so) fragrance. The opening is slightly uplifting and aromatic. The amber element is present from the start in the blend. After half an hour, the musk comes in, giving a 'freshly laundered' hug to the whole venture. Then the geranium gradually enters and gives a touch of nobility... And guess what. After the first hour, it's 90% identical to Azzaro Most Wanted Intense (for which I have also written a review). So, at each development stage, we have a sweet, creamy, spicy, floral fragrance with green (and slightly mossy) and woody touches.

Overall... Quality without a doubt... Unfortunately, since I'm not into very sweet fragrances, the opening and the first two hours weren't to my liking... After the two hours, I liked it quite a bit, but at the same time, it's a dead ringer for Azzaro Most Wanted Intense... Yes, but Azzaro is priced differently than Prada... Is it good? It's very good... Is it groundbreaking? No... Good longevity and good projection... Note: the bottle is a jewel... Would I buy it? Maybe... For those who enjoy sweet fragrances (with green, mossy facets), I think it's worth your time. Final rating (0-5): 3.80

Prada Paradigme is, among other things, an example of how modern perfumery works. Trends come and go in everything: music, fashion, entertainment. The same applies to fragrances. Just as most 80s perfumes smell like the 80s and just as you can distinguish a photo from another decade just by the clothes and hairstyles, today certain fragrance DNAs also dominate. This is not necessarily a bad thing: every era has its own scents that characterize it and create shared experiences among people. The introduction refers to the hate it has received.

In practice, Paradigme has a sweet and green character, with an almost bubblegummy musky freshness. The base with geranium may seem a bit simple or ordinary, but it remains pleasant and can be worn without difficulty. Overall, it leaves a sense of cleanliness that makes it extremely versatile and wearable without being tiring. It has very satisfactory longevity. I’ve worn it for two days in total. The reverse pyramid mentioned in the composition, personally I don’t get it. Is it generic? It is, and?

Among other things, I look for fragrances that I can literally wear everywhere, without a second thought. Surely, if I had smelled 300 fewer perfumes in my life, maybe I would have been more excited by it, now I simply appreciate it for what it is: a modern scent of our time that will remain connected with today’s generation. I wear it much more easily than any blue/shower-gel fresh I have. If your taste is for fragrances like Amouage Interlude man (which, by the way, I wonder when and where exactly you wear it) and you came here to read about Paradigme, obviously it’s not for you. But if you want something more modern, green/sweet, all-day and immediate, you’ll find what you’re looking for. It’s not a niche masterpiece but it’s beautiful, easy, contemporary and delivers what it promises.
