  • It almost set our house on fire! Unacceptable product. Cheaply made. It's not expensive, but we essentially wasted those 25 euros. It lasted 2 years, constantly needing repairs under warranty. I was just waiting for the warranty to end so it could break down, and that's exactly what happened!

On 16/5/2015 I bought this one to replace a white plastic one that lasted 15 consecutive years and "raised" two children. It is quite slow to boil, noisy, and after just a few initial uses, its stainless steel bottom developed a permanent aubergine tint over most of its surface, which never cleaned off despite always boiling filtered (dechlorinated) water and despite the vinegar I used. Seven months later, under normal operating conditions, it short-circuited, tripping the electrical network's fuse and (obviously) never worked again. The official service took 15 days to determine that a) it was needlessly burnt out, b) it was under warranty, and c) they should send me a new one. Expressing my reservations about the product as a whole, the German retail chain where I had returned the damaged one issued me a credit note (very easily) and I hurried to buy the (glass) Izzy Lagoon 1761.

Unacceptable quality, not worth even the 15 euros it costs
