Saeris is a thief, suspicious and always one step away from dying.
Kingfisher is dark, powerful, dangerous and obviously a walking red flag.
Magic, curses, secrets that are never revealed on time, and an attraction of the "will I kiss you or kill you — I haven’t decided yet" type. Everyone wants power, no one makes the right choices, and of course… they fall in love while the world is burning.

A story that slowly and steadily draws you into its world, gradually building a reality where you’ll encounter everything you can imagine in a fantasy book.
A wide range of fantastical creatures and an original magic system that will captivate you sooner or later. It’s a one-way street.
It’s important to pay attention to the finer details because in the end, those will make the difference, and of course, be prepared for the ending because you’ll simply freeze.
The cliffhanger is huge and everyone is left breathless.

Saeris is a very dynamic MFC who will pleasantly surprise you with her choices and attitude, while Kingfisher is the cocky bastard you won’t be able to resist in the end.
Their chemistry is amazing, pure, but let me talk about my favorite…
CARRION
If a side character could be the main in a book, it would be Carrion because he truly steals the show in every scene he appears in.
Absolutely delightful and funny, he’ll steal your heart with his lines and help you forget the tough moments in the story.

There are extremely hot scenes in this book so keep that in mind.

I recommend it to those looking for slightly more complex fantasy books with an original plot, and I definitely don’t recommend it as a first entry into the world of fantasy.

Saeris Fane founds herself in a very difficult situation while trying to steal metal to trade for water. She almost dies when she touches a sword and then steps into a pool in the Castle almost unconscious and in the arms of Death.
Kingfisher aka the BEST book boyfriend is Fae and a pain in the ** for Saeris. While she steps into the Fae realm and finds a whole new world with great secrets, amazing characters and the most unique magic system I have ever read she has to decide. The metals always spoke to her when she was working as a blacksmith. What does this means for her?
Amazing book truly! Meanwhile the slow banter and f*cking amazing romance was everything! ️‍ I have to admit that the book picked up from 50% but IT WAS WORTH IT! 6 SHINNING STARS! The found family? the plot twists? the shadow daddy Fisher? the R O M A N C E! I need book 2 asap!
