The book documents and analyzes the contribution of the clergy and the Church in general to the struggles for the freedom of the Greek nation and Greece against the Latins - Franks - Westerners, throughout nearly six centuries before 1821.

Specifically, from the 13th to the 18th century, starting in 1204 when Constantinople fell to the Crusaders and shortly before, in 1191, when Cyprus was captured by the English of Richard I of Lionheart and the French, leading Orthodox Christians to revolt against them, with an Orthodox monk as their leader.

Up to 1819, when the revolt of the Orthodox Christians of Lefkada, led by priests, took place against the British conquerors, the participation, role, and contribution of the Greek Church and clergy are studied, presented, and interpreted in forty-one (41) revolts, uprisings, and other movements against the Latins - Westerners.
