We were buying Wellfed Slowbaked for months as a higher-quality option and our cat liked it; however, after a few months he started having gradual instability in his hind legs. Once we noticed it, we really did every test there is: blood tests, X-rays, MRIs of the entire spine, ultrasounds, tests for toxoplasma, FIP, everything. We went to four doctors and neurologists, spent over €1,000, and no one could figure out what was wrong. He got to the point where he could hardly walk at all and was taking 2 mg of cortisone a day, and still getting worse, and no doctor knew what else we should do. We decided on our own to try maybe the food was to blame, even though they told us it was not due to the food, and as soon as we stopped it, 3 days later the cat had already improved. Two months have passed, we stopped the cortisone completely, and the cat, from not being able to stand for 4 months, is now running like before. We don't know what went wrong; it may have caused him an allergy or something, there is no way to pinpoint it because we do not intend to give him the food again, but to us everything shows that it harmed the cat and we do not recommend it.
