In the board game Dungeons & Dragons: Builders of Baldur's Gate, the player takes on the role of the leader of a powerful family in the iconic city. Baldur's Gate is not only an industrial city in the world of Forgotten Realms but also a city of mortal dangers. Each family tries to exploit the crises, using them as opportunities to advance their own agendas.
When erecting buildings, an influence cube is placed on them to declare control. This also applies to special castles, gates, and watchtowers, which are represented with miniatures that have slots for the influence cube.
