Lumea's fondant is easy to use because it is a flexible fondant that doesn't crack during handling. It readily kneads and has a pleasant vanilla flavor. It is ideal for cake covering and other desserts. It is easy to apply to the desired thickness and maintains its shape on the cake.
By adding a little starch to the paste, it becomes firmer, making it an ideal material for re-shaping figures. Use starch or confectioners' sugar to dust the fondant. The use of store-bought powdered sugar is not recommended, as it is granular and alters the texture of the fondant, which is made from very fine sugar.
Fondant for cake coverings extends to a thickness of 2.5 mm. If the fondant has been left longer on the work surface and becomes drier, there is a way to restore its elasticity. The easiest method is to add a little syrup made by boiling one tablespoon of sugar with one tablespoon of water. Gently dampen your hands and knead the fondant again until it becomes flexible and workable. Do not use fats, as they ruin the fondant's flexibility. A silicone work surface is recommended, but you can also work on a smooth surface dusted with a little starch if needed.
