The only negative thing (which I think is logical to happen) is that when opening the screen or when the computer comes out of sleep mode, it takes a few seconds to display an image. The HDMI port on my graphics card did not support QHD, but it had a display port with QHD capability. So, in order to connect a QHD monitor to this card, which had an HDMI port, I purchased this adapter along with a good HDMI cable and that's how I got the job done. Please note that in the above case, an active adapter is needed (like this one). The port on my card, as far as I know, was display port 1.1, so this specific adapter is likely to be backwards compatible.
