    To be lenient, I would say almost useless. It is not true that you can connect a 3.5'' drive without power and have it work. Even with power, the quality of the USB and the whole device is low. It did not recognize a hard drive with data, but as empty, asking for formatting. Even a 2.5'' drive I connected also asked for formatting even though it had data.
