Andromeda – Ani – Wildwood has the perfect life. Her famous bakery with delicious sweets, her well-kept home, and she herself is always flawless. Her hair is perfect even in the rain, and the glass coffee table in her living room never has fingerprints (or paw prints from Karma, her cat). She has unwavering patience, solves every problem, and everyone can turn to her for help.
And all this thanks to the spell her mother taught her. But magic always comes with a price, and the cost of perfection is heavy. Yet Ani persists despite the side effects, as she wants to prove her abilities to others (especially to the Guild of Magic) to secure her place in the magical world. After all, she likes to keep others happy.
So, when the Wonders suggest she take on Maeve, a teenage witch with bursts of power, she agrees without hesitation. Ani and Maeve isolate themselves for their lessons in an abandoned farmhouse – or so they thought, until the mysterious and handsome owner of the farmhouse returns unexpectedly.
Now, Ani begins to realize that her carefully maintained life is rather lonely. And she wonders: If everything about her is so perfect, why does she feel so… incomplete?
