Description

Perfect Design, Built for Flexibility.

Introducing the new DJI Matrice 400, the top-tier series of professional drones designed for demanding missions. It offers an impressive 59-minute flight time, payload capacity up to 6 kg, and integrated rotating LiDAR and mmWave radar systems for highly accurate detection of power grid wire obstacles.

It supports O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission technology and Airborne Relay Video Transmission, ensuring safer operation. Thanks to the combination of Smart Detection, AR display, the ability for takeoff/landing from ships, and advanced automation, the Matrice 400 excels in emergency missions, power grid inspections, mapping, and construction (AEC).

Longer Flight Time, High-Speed Performance.

The flight capabilities of the Matrice 400 are exceptional, offering up to 59 minutes of continuous forward flight even with payload, and up to 53 minutes of hovering. These performances make it a reliable tool for long-duration and continuous operations, such as search and rescue, firefighting, and large-scale mapping.

Additionally, it can avoid large obstacles, such as buildings and mountains, even at flight speeds of up to 25 m/s.

Multiple Payloads, Multiple Application Scenarios

The powerful payload capacity of the Matrice 400 allows it to easily meet the demands of a wide range of applications. With a maximum payload of 6 kg, it supports easy switching between a single bottom camera (gimbal) and a dual bottom camera.

Additionally, it features a third gimbal mount at the bottom for even greater flexibility. The aircraft is equipped with 4 external E-Port V2 ports, allowing simultaneous installation of up to 7 payloads.

Depending on the mission, the Matrice 400 can be equipped with the Zenmuse H30 Series, L2, P1, S1 spotlight, V1 loudspeaker, Manifold 3, or third-party payloads, thus expanding its capabilities and fully utilizing the potential of the DJI ecosystem.

Safe and Reliable Flight

Built for Demanding Conditions

The Matrice 400 features an IP55 protection rating, allowing it to operate reliably in challenging conditions such as heavy dust or rain. It also maintains stable performance in temperatures from -20° to 50° C (-4° to 122° F), delivering consistent results in both cold and hot environments.

Obstacle Detection at Power Line Level

The advanced obstacle detection system of the Matrice 400 combines rotating LiDAR, high-precision mmWave radar, and wide-angle full-color vision sensors for low light (fisheye), taking detection capabilities to an unprecedented level.

The system detects even small obstacles, such as high-voltage lines, even in mountainous terrain — even in the dark. It can also penetrate rain and fog, offering enhanced safety in demanding weather conditions.

Reliable Video Transmission

O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission System

Thanks to the aircraft’s ten-antenna system and the controller’s phased array antenna technology, the O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission System offers image transmission at distances of up to 40 km. The Matrice 400 also supports the sub2G frequency, and when equipped with two DJI Cellular Dongle 2 devices, it can automatically switch to the best available mobile network, providing a more stable signal even in environments with interference or remote areas.

Aerial Video Signal Transmission

The Matrice 400 features a built-in video relay unit. With this configuration, one Matrice 400 can operate as a relay drone, flying at a higher altitude to provide signal to another Matrice 400 operating at a greater distance. This capability significantly extends the transmission range, making it ideal for search and rescue missions as well as inspections in mountainous areas.

Integrated Aircraft Positioning System

The omni-directional detection capability, provided by the rotating LiDAR, the high-precision mmWave radar, and the wide-angle full-color low-light vision sensors (fisheye), equips the Matrice 400 with powerful positioning abilities. It can fly steadily near glass building facades or wind turbine blades, and return safely from building edges or mountain bases even when the Return To Home Point has not been updated.

Vision Assistance with Full Color Rendering

The aircraft's four wide-angle, full-color vision sensors for low light provide Full-Color Vision Assistance, ensuring safer flight.

Enhanced Intelligence and Efficiency

Smart Detection

With the combination of visible and thermal imaging from the Zenmuse H30 series, the Matrice 400 can detect vehicles, vessels, and people during search and rescue missions or routine flights. It also supports switching between different models, expanding possible application scenarios. Additionally, it features high-resolution grid photo capture and powerful target tracking capabilities.

Power Line AR

During missions such as power grid inspection, the obstacle detection system automatically identifies obstacles from wires ahead and displays clear AR lines on the controller screen, making the environment easily readable at a glance and ensuring safer flight.

Map View AR

During missions carried out during the day or night in urban areas, the controller can display in real time the names of buildings and points of interest, highlighting main roads with distinct lines.

AR Flight Waypoint

During return-to-home (RTH), obstacle detection, and FlyTo operations, a real-time preview of the drone’s route is available. During landing, a virtual shadow of the aircraft (AR Aircraft Shadow) may be displayed, helping operators accurately confirm the landing spot.

Live Annotations

Without requiring modeling, you can mark points on the controller screen to obtain object coordinates, draw lines to measure distances between multiple points, and outline areas to calculate their surface. The measurement results can be synchronized with DJI FlightHub 2, enhancing team efficiency.

Real-Time Terrain Tracking

The Matrice 400 supports real-time terrain following flight (Real Time Follow) in any horizontal direction. This feature can be activated during both manual flights and automated flight routes, ensuring a consistent relative altitude from the ground.

During large-scale search and rescue operations, the size of objects on the ground remains constant on the controller screen, reducing the need for continuous zoom adjustments and improving efficiency.

In mapping missions, a consistent ground sampling distance (GSD) can be maintained, providing high-accuracy data for precise mapping.

Takeoff and Landing on Ships

To meet the demands of offshore operations, such as maritime patrol and wind turbine inspection, the Matrice 400 features the ability to take off from and land on ships — supporting takeoff from anchored vessels and landing on moving ships.

With the help of deck landing pattern detection, the drone can perform safe and precise landings.
