The book “Introduction to the Teaching and Instruction of Natural Sciences” addresses issues related to the introduction to the Pedagogy of Natural Sciences, as it has developed as an autonomous scientific field over recent decades. It also aims to connect Pedagogy and pedagogical practices in teaching Natural Sciences from Kindergarten through High School.

Thus, it is aimed at educators at all levels, researchers, and students of Pedagogical Departments of Preschool and Primary Education, as well as Departments of Natural Sciences. The first part discusses the conditions under which issues of Pedagogy and the teaching of Natural Sciences separated from traditional Pedagogy to form a distinct scientific discipline, which is included in the Science of Education and is in continuous interaction with Learning Psychology, the Philosophy of Knowledge, and the Natural Sciences themselves.

The second part outlines key theoretical concepts of the Pedagogy of Natural Sciences, such as the Teaching Contract, Mental Representations and Models, Didactic Transformation, and Pedagogical Content Knowledge. It explores research related to students' thinking, learning practices and processes, and the development of school knowledge and pedagogical objects, as well as their interactions.

Finally, in the third part of the book, concepts and topics such as Goals-Barriers, Cognitive Conflict, Experimental Teaching, Written Language and texts are presented. While these originate from the field of modern Pedagogy of Natural Sciences, they are closely connected to issues of teaching and the development of pedagogical practices.
